The Memory and Language Laboratory (MALL) is situated in the Department of Psychology at the University of Adelaide. The members of the MALL study the basic processes of memory and language performance using a combination of behavioural, computational modeling and neuroimaging methods. We are interested in questions such as:
How do you extract meaning from utterances?
How do you recognize when and where you have encountered things?
How is your knowledge organized?
How do you recall lists of items?
How does the structure of sentences impact on your ability to process them?
The lab is also involved in a number of applied projects in the areas of
defense, education and information technology. In particular, we are
developing technologies to assist intelligence agents to process large
amounts of textual information, to automatically grade essays, to assess and
promote vocabulary development and to model how users interact with websites.
For enquires regarding the lab you can contact the director, Dr. Simon Dennis,
at simon.dennis@adelaide.edu.au
