Clinical Experience:

Prior to commencing my academic career, I worked for ten years as a clinical psychologist in the Public Sector in South Australia. I have worked in child protection, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and in adult health psychology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. I also maintained a private practice in clinical psychology for four years.

Research Interests:

Early childhood development, including parent-child relationships, resilience and attachment

Child and Adolescent Mental Health, including anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorder, conduct disorder and other problems in children

Psychological treatments for children, including family therapy and attachment interventions.

Child protection

Health Psychology, particularly as it relates to children and adolescents.

Adherence to Treatment in Chronic Illness. I completed my PhD in this area and have ongoing projects underway.
